Let's talk about the weather

DE     Zu Beginn des Jahres 2010 gab es wochenlang eine geschlossene Schneedecke in Berlin. Zur selben Zeit telefonierte ich täglich mit meiner Mutter die an einem Gehirntumor erkrankt war. Die Konversation mit ihr wurde immer mehr zu einer Herausforderung. Das Sprechen über das Wetter ging jedoch mühelos.

EN     At the beginning of 2010 there was a closed snow cover in Berlin for weeks. At the same time, I was on the phone daily with my mother who was suffering from a brain tumor. Conversation with her became more and more of a challenge. Talking about the weather, however, went effortlessly.
